The latest version of the Facebook Portal, the Social Media Company\u2019s video calling smart speakers was launched in the month of November 2018 will soon be releasing this fall.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The vice president of AR\/VR from Facebook Andrew Boz Bosworth told The Verge\u2019sCasey Newton at Recode\u2019s CodeCon that the company has:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
\u00a0\u201clot more that we\u2019re going to unveil later in this fall,\u201d related to Portal, including \u201cnew form factors that we\u2019re going to be shipping.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
It is still not clear what is the form factor, but TechCrunch has speculated that the device could be \u2018Ripley\u2019 which generally appears in the Portal firmware repositories. According to a report, the Ripley will help customers attach some kind of camera in their televisions and will help them use the TV as a video chat screen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
According to Bosworth, the sales numbers of Portal have been very good. The number of sales was not mentioned anywhere. Facebook has been battling a lot over the privacy issue for the last couple of years. The company is still investing its money on Portal and according to Bosworth:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
\r\n\u00a0\u201cbecause we think there\u2019s a whole new generation of hardware coming out.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
He added:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
